I'm still finishing up the last of the edits on the big bang fic, so here are some quick and dirty fic recs:

Five Times
by Davechicken: (GOTG) This one's been bookmarked on my AO3 profile for a while now. I can't believe I haven't mentioned it here before, because it has some of the best Peter-and-Yondu-related angst I've ever read. Period. It's also under 1,000 words, so if you're looking for a quick but heartwarming/heartbreaking read, I can't recommend it enough.

Experiential Learning by significantowl: (Daredevil) Father Lantom somehow convinces Matt to volunteer as the arts-and-crafts teacher for Vacation Bible School. Honestly, isn't that all the recommendation you need?

In Search of Old Dreams by anaraine: (Labyrinth) Another short-but-sweet story focusing on Toby and his longing for a place and a person he barely remembers. This fic captures the magic and darkness of the movie so well. Plus, the writing's gorgeous.

Tune My Heart to Sing Thy Grace by dynamicsymmetry: (The Walking Dead) A short, heartmeltingly adorable meeting between Daryl and Beth. This one's set around season 4, when everyone at the prison is trying to scrape together some sort of Christmas celebration and actually succeeding. Beth and Daryl have wonderful chemistry, and it's so refreshing to read a fic in this fandom where everybody's happy for once.

Or the "Lisa Castle meets Laura Kinney and they work through their issues together" AU of my heart. This is the first fic in what I hope will turn into a series; it ended up being quite a bit longer than I'd originally thought. Still had a ball working on it.

Title: We're All That They've Got
Fandom: Daredevil, Logan
Rating: Teen & Up
Relationships: Lisa Castle & Laura Kinney, Lisa Castle & Frank Castle, Laura Kinney & Logan, Lisa Castle & Logan, Laura Kinney & Frank Castle
Summary: He’d told Lisa he was helping out a man and a little girl on the run from bad people, so she wasn’t surprised. Maybe she wished he’d told her a few more things, like how close these bad people were, or that the little girl couldn’t (wouldn’t) speak English. Or that she could pop a knife out of her knuckle as easily as Lisa cracked hers.

Might or might not turn this into a monthly thing. I've read SO MUCH good stuff recently and figured it was time to share. It's mostly gen this time around. Also mostly Marvel.

Tough Girl is What I Had to Be by angel_deux: (Daredevil) Set some time after season 2. I'm a sucker for Lisa Castle Lives AUs, and this is one of my absolute favorites. Lots of emotion and heartwarming father-daughter scenes. Plus, it ships Frank and Karen. What more could you want?

Kings Among Runaways by Viva Rocksteady: (Jessica Jones, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt) The Jessica Jones/Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt crossover you never knew you needed. Jessica is hard-edged and cynical, Kimmy is as adorable as they come, and their friendship comes off as surprisingly believable.

it's the skin and bones that keep me on the road by impossibleamypond: (Star Wars) A missing scene between Rey and Han. Incredibly well-written and bittersweet.

our lives umbilical by duchamp: (Logan) Set after the movie, and most definitely not an Everybody Lives AU. Laura moves on, but she never quite gets over Logan and what they could have had. Beautifully written. Also very, very sad.
