I just saw the movie today, and I couldn't have been more thrilled with the GotG scenes. :D I read somewhere that James Gunn was heavily involved in the Guardians' scenes, and it shows - the emotional continuity (from the previous movies) and the character voices all hit exactly the right notes for me. It really felt like getting a GotG 2.5. The mix of dorkiness, inappropriate humor, and below-the-belt emotional gut-punches was just right, and their scenes had some of the very best lines. ("Don't lay your eggs in me!!" omg. Poor Mantis.) And I got my Gamora & Nebula sisterfeels from BOTH sides - Nebula demanding that Thanos tell her where Gamora is, oh my heart.

I would be mad as hell if I thought for a minute that Gamora was really dead - let alone the entire group - but I'm quite sure they'll all be back for GotG3, so I'm just going to have happy feels about it instead. :D
