Carise was absolutely the best and I can't get enough of her dynamic with Leia--like you said, the whole not being able to hurt her directly even though she feels like she should is just sooo good and interesting, and I love that at first Carise is presented as kind of your typical vain bimbo-type lady villain, when in reality she's so much worse/better than that. I put Leia & Carise in as one of my offers for Everywoman before I actually finished the book, because I just knew I'd love their dynamic that much, and now that I am finished I'm so glad that I did.
Oh, wow, that sounds amazing??? Underwater cities are kind of my thing and I think it's maybe the coolest setting I've read about in a Star Wars book. Which is saying a lot.
