We've had some good fall weather where I live, too! Though the last few days it's been gloomy and raining, which isn't as fun. But: FALL. :D

I read Carrie last year, I think? Last summer? I enjoyed it a lot. I really liked the narration of the story, mixing an omniscient traditional narrator with primary and secondary source documents from the world of the story. It made for a cool narrative experience, and as you said, it moves along so briskly.
