.) Get back into the habit of posting. Also get back into the habit of commenting and interacting with more people around here. This is one of those goals that I know will fall apart at some point (because college), just hopefully not so completely next year. Right now I'm aiming for at least one post every other week. Which also means getting into the habit of actually sitting down to write entries, instead of going somewhere/doing something, thinking, "Huh, I should probably post about this," and then forgetting all about it.

.) Read more. Or read more regularly, I guess. This year wasn't too bad for me, in terms of the number of books I read, but I pretty much quit the habit of reading something just for fun every day. I think part of that's down to the fact that I've been spending more of my free time writing, which is wonderful...Come 2018, though, I want to read more, and read more of the stories I really enjoy. Starting with the pile of Star Wars EU books I just checked out from the library.

.) Write more, but don't stress about comments and kudos. This is one of the things that I'm really, really terrible at: I still have a hard time shaking the feeling that if a fic I write doesn't get X number of comments or kudos, it can't have been all that good. Which, okay...not all my stories are going to be that good. And that's fine. Writing them is the important part; I love every single comment and kudo I've ever gotten, but going into the New Year I want to spend most of my energy enjoying the process, not worrying about the outcome. (I already have the feeling I'll fail miserably at this, but hey. May as well be optimistic.)

.) Write better author's notes. Okay, this is sort of ridiculous, but I know of fic authors who always leave the loveliest, most well-thought-out authors notes on their fics, where they explain their influences and why they decided to write this particular story and whatnot, and I feel like that shows a level of planning and thought that I can only aspire to. Also, they're just fun to read. So, going forward more thoughtful, detailed author's notes? Maybe. I guess it depends most on the story.

Okay, four goals that I most likely won't follow up on sounds about right! I hope all you guys have a great New Year. :)
