It's SO fun, and I love it so much! Actually, I'll have to see if I can dig up this great article that I read a while ago, that basically argues that one of the things that makes it so great is that by the end Lydia has her own found family--Barbara and Adam, who are basically the attentive and sweet dream parents any kid (even a broody goth one) would want, and her dad and stepmom, who might have their issues but are understanding in the end.
