But it's very character-focused, and the growing dread pitted against John's sort of inherent but world-weary goodness got to me--he's been through all this before, and doesn't expect a happy outcome, but he keeps setting traps and protecting people--even people who don't necessarily deserve it--because it's the right thing to do.
