That feeling when you find a grammar mistake in your WIP, realize it's an issue throughout the entire story, then realize that it's probably an issue in most of your other stories, and if you could go back over all of them with a fine-tooth comb you would, but you can't, and it's not something you'd even care about when reading someone else's story, but knowing that it's just dotted through all your previous work drives you NUTS...

In better news, today we got blue skies and sunshine for the first time in at least a week. And writing, apart from grammar-related freakouts, has been going pretty well--just slowly. And I got two lovely Steve-&-Lucas-focused short fics for fandomgiftbox , one from sholio  and one from a lovely anonymous writer! Also, I'll have to treat for a couple of exchanges if I can; I haven't signed up for any since summer but they're a bunch of intriguing prompts floating around, especially for trickortreatex .

The way I write poetry means I play with words and word forms so grammar is a secondary issue (and this from a qualified teacher of English yet! :o)

Ha, thanks! And it really is a pretty minor thing; I don't think it would normally bug me so much if I hadn't been a little stressed already. :)

Unloading it all out in a post actually really helped me sit back and go "...and nobody else probably cares, you're FINE." Which is nice, and I don't think it's something that's necessarily super noticeable, unless you're looking for errors? I just tend to split up paragraphs when they don't need to be split up, especially when it comes to dialogue.

Oh no, that must feel really aggravating! I expect it's not anything that bad--at least, I don't remember anything standing out at me particularly in the fic of yours I read, and I usually do notice that kind of thing--but it's always really grinding to realize you've left in a mistake like that, especially when you're going to have to leave it up...

At least now you'll be able to keep an eye out for it in the future?

Yeah, I'd rather figure it out now than never, and honestly, I don't think it's the kind of mistake I'd usually notice when I'm reading someone else's work--and even if I did, it wouldn't keep me from enjoying the story at all, so I'm trying to go easy on myself; everyone makes mistakes!
